checked by a person

The short version

What AI does here

Gathers, checks and builds. Never the last word.

AI agents collect evidence from Disney’s own pages and check each proposed change against it. They also help build the software behind the site. They do not write our pages. We use them because a small team cannot recheck hundreds of facts every week by hand and the choice was between agents with a human gate or checking less often.

What a person does

Writes every page and approves every fact. That is the rule.

I write what you read here in my own words and I check every fact against its source before it goes live. The same goes for the reference data the platform runs on such as point charts and resort facts. Nothing is published until I have compared it with its source and decided it belongs.

How a fact reaches this site

Several checks, then one human decision.

An agent gathers the evidence

Most of what we check starts as a question from Jeremiah or me. We want to know what a resort costs this month or whether a point chart still says what we published. Sometimes a document we track changes and the system flags it on its own. Either way an AI agent goes to the source and captures what it finds. For Disney facts that means screenshots of Disney’s own pages and Disney’s published PDFs. Anything the agent types out is treated as a lead and never as evidence until a screenshot backs it.

A second model checks it

A separate AI model then checks every proposed change against that evidence, line by line, and flags anything the source does not support. Two independent checks catch more than one.

I write it

Only then does it reach me. What reaches me is evidence rather than copy. I compare each value with its source and decide what it means for the people reading the page. Then I write that in my own words. Most of what an agent drafts never appears here. I use it to know what changed and then I write the page myself. Each value I publish is recorded exactly as I approved it. If it changes later I have to approve it again.

Then it goes live

Approved changes are applied exactly as approved, with nothing added. This is how our living pages stay current, and the data behind the platform goes through the same process.

What a person checks

Point charts

Every point-chart figure traces to an official Disney PDF and I check it against that document before it is published. When Disney revises a chart, our numbers follow the document.

Room and resort facts

Sleeps, beds, views, kitchens, laundry, floor plans, addresses, transport and walking distances, for every resort we list, approved by me field by field against Disney’s own pages. Walking distances Disney does not publish are measured on Google Maps walking directions. The agent captures a screenshot of the route, I check it, and we list the mileage shown. Where Disney publishes nothing, such as square footage, we show nothing.

Prices on living pages

Every dollar figure on a living page, from hotel rates to resort fees and taxes, comes from a source I have checked. Agents propose updates and I approve them.

Rental rates

The per-point rental rates in our guides and calculators come from The Going Rate, the DVC rental market report I publish on michaelstarlane.com. That site is mine, and I am the founder of Sleep Around Points, so the report is not an independent source and we credit it as ours wherever it appears. I compile that report and check each figure before it is published. Treat it as a market estimate, not a quote.

Disney’s policy

I check every quote from Disney’s commercial use policy against Disney’s own wording. Our policy guide uses the thresholds Disney has published and one of our own, the 60% rental cap. We label that cap as our rule, not Disney’s, wherever it appears.

The writing

Every page here is written by me. Before it goes live I read it as a visitor would and ask whether it answers what they came for and whether it says anything a reader could misunderstand. If a page does not read the way I would say it out loud it does not ship.

Pages and tools

Every page design is reviewed by a person before it is published. Every calculator and tool is tested by hand with real inputs and the results are checked against the math before anyone can use it. When a tool or a page changes it goes through the same review again.

Where AI helps

In every case I approve the result before it reaches you.

Gathering and checking

Agents read sources, capture evidence and flag what has changed. A second model checks their work. Neither can publish anything.

Research and editing

I write the pages on this site in my own words. AI does not write our prose. It helps me find and organize what I need before I write and it points out errors after. For the parts a reader never sees such as page titles and descriptions and image alt text I will often talk the choices through with a model before I decide on a direction. Those conversations are always about who will be visiting the page and what they would want from it. The human reader comes first. Then I write or edit those myself and I hold final responsibility for everything on the page.

Building the platform

AI helps write and test the software that runs the marketplace. I decide what ships.

Images

The resort illustrations and painted backgrounds on this site are AI-generated artwork, not photographs. Our logo was made by hand, and the photo of the editor on this page is a photograph. The photo of Michael and Jeremiah on our editorial policy is a real photograph too, taken together at Pandora, The World of Avatar, in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The illustrations set a mood and are not a record of how a resort or a room looks. Our floor plans are drawn by us and checked by me before they go up.

What we will not do

Invent anything

We do not let AI invent facts, numbers, quotes, reviews or traveler experiences.

Guess

We do not fill a gap in Disney’s information with a guess. A blank beats a number nobody can source.

Pass off artwork

We do not present AI-generated images as photographs of real places.

Let an agent publish

No AI agent can publish a fact or a page on this site. Agents propose. A person approves.

Your information

The platform does not send your personal details, your listings or your messages through an AI model. The checks we describe on this page apply to Disney facts and our own data, not to anything you give us. When we use AI tools to maintain the site, they work under the same access rules as our staff, and nothing you give us is used to train a model. Identity verification is handled by Stripe under its own policy.

What a person does not check

Said plainly, so the rest of this page means what it says.

Owner listings

Owners enter their own listings. We check each one automatically against the point chart, the 60% cap and the owner’s verified identity, but I do not review every listing before it appears.

Calculator results

Our calculators run math on the figures described above. Nobody checks each result by hand, so treat them as estimates.

Messages

Messages between owners and renters are screened automatically for personal contact details before they are delivered. That screening is a pattern match, not a model. Our staff can read a message thread when handling a dispute or a report, and that is a person, not a model.

Machines read the same thing

We publish machine-readable versions of our content for AI assistants, including llms.txt and the data files behind our living pages. They come from the same approved data as the pages you read. We update this page as our tools change, and the editorial policy covers everything else about how we publish.
