Your phone takes a photo of your driver's license or passport. About thirty seconds. The image uploads to Stripe Identity, encrypted in transit. We see only the result Stripe returns.
A short video selfie. Stripe's biometric model confirms the face on the ID matches yours and that you're a real person on camera, not a still photo. One tap, done.
The name on your ID has to match the name on your account. If anything is off, you get an email from us asking about it instead of a silent rejection. We'd rather ask than guess.
Most owners are done in under two minutes. Blurry photos or expired IDs can be retried three times before it gets escalated to our team for a manual look.
Why this matters
Two things matter here. First, every payment on the platform has a verified person on both ends. That's what makes our Booking Protection actually work including refunds, dispute resolution, the 24-hour arrival window. This is why verification is critical to our operations.
Second, we never see your driver's license, your selfie video, or your face. Stripe Identity handles all of it, encrypted on their servers and deleted after a year under their biometric privacy policy. Sleep Around Points keeps only your verified name and a yes-you're-verified flag. Nothing else, ever. It should be noted, all renters go through the same verification process, making this marketplace more secure for you as an owner.
While the founding fifty are coming on, I'm reviewing every contract myself. Twenty-four to forty-eight hours, usually faster.
Your name appears on the recorded deed as an owner. Joint ownership is fine. You just need to be one of the named parties.
The resort and home-resort details on file with Disney match what you entered. I verify them against the deed instrument you upload.
Your points balance is current and not already committed to other reservations. I confirm this before approving any listing you publish.
Why this matters
I won't list a stay I can't verify. Your renter is paying for a Disney confirmation in their name. That requires me to know you actually own the points, which stops the worst failure mode in Facebook-group rentals: someone pays for a reservation that never gets booked.
